Ingredients

 

3 c self-raising flour

60g Cinnamon Butter

2-3 Tbsp orange zest

1 Tbsp caster sugar

¼ c orange juice

2 c dates, chopped

½ c – ¾ c milk

1 c natural yoghurt

 

Method

 

Preheat oven to 200°C.  Place the flour, butter, zest and sugar into a food processor and pulse until like fine breadcrumbs.

 

Tip flour mixture into a large bowl. Add the chopped dates and toss in flour.  Make a well in the centre and pour in milk, yoghurt and orange juice and mix with a table knife to form a soft dough. 

 

Tip out onto a floured bench and cut into squares or circles.

 

Place into a baking tray.  Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly browned and cooked through. 

 

Cool on a rack for 10 minutes and serve while still warm with extra Cinnamon Butter.
