Ingredients

6-8 hot cross buns

40g of Westgold Unsalted Butter

½ cup maple syrup

1 orange, zest & juice

¾ cup grated cheese

8 rashers streaky bacon (dry cured)

Extra Westgold Salted Butter for spreading

Method

 

Preheat the oven to 200 oC.

 

Line a slice tin with baking paper, add the hot cross buns and sprinkle the grated cheese on the buns.

 

Place the butter, maple syrup, zest and orange juice into a frypan and bring to a gentle boil. Simmer until the syrup reduces by half and is thickened.

 

Add the bacon and cook for 2 minutes.

 

Place the bacon on the cheese in a cross pattern and pour the syrup all over the top.

 

Place in the oven and cook for 8-10 minutes until the bacon and buns are crispy and glazed.

 

Place onto a serving platter and serve with extra butter for spreading.
